Vida Boosts Preeclampsia Prevention and Screening Efforts with Grant Support

Vida Medical Clinic and Support Services is now screening and providing medication to at-risk women to lower risk factors for developing preeclampsia, thanks to the support of a Wisconsin Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (WAFCC) Preeclampsia Prevention Grant.

Preeclampsia is a disease that can occur during pregnancy or soon after the baby is born. It causes elevated blood pressure and can negatively impact organs like the brain, liver, and kidneys. It may also cause a baby to be born early and/or lead to health problems for both mother and baby later in life.

WAFCC, working in partnership with CVS Pharmacy, also provided Vida with automatic blood pressure cuffs that allow Vida patients to monitor and manage their blood pressure under their provider’s supervision.

Vida provides free, confidential medical services to both women and men, including STD testing and treatment, ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, well-woman check ups, abortion reversal services, and more. Learn more about medical services at Vida here.
