Vida Earns Gold Rating from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics

Vida Medical Clinic and Support Services has earned a 2023 Gold Rating from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) Quality Standards Program.

The mission of the NAFC is to build healthy communities for all through quality, equitable and accessible healthcare. The NAFC and its members, including Vida, are dedicated to ensuring that patients receive quality health care. To quantify and qualify the care provided throughout the network, the NAFC formalized a set of Quality Standards for member organizations.

“We are excited to earn the Gold Quality Rating from NAFC. Earning this highest rating offered from NAFC reflects the high quality care and medical services our patients receive at Vida,” Vida Nurse Manager Heidi Weiland, RN, said. “This national recognition further reflects our commitment to providing exceptional patient care and operating our clinic aligned with best practices and standards of care.”

NAFC members voluntarily submit information to the NAFC on the various policies and procedures in place to attain their standards rating and attest that they successfully incorporate these standards within their organization. NAFC Quality Standards elements include policies and procedures related to the following areas: Administrative, Enhanced Access and Continuity of Care, Identifying and Managing Patient Population information, Planning and Managing Care, Providing Self-Care Support and Community Resources, Tracking and Coordinating Care, and Measuring and Improving Performance.

Every year, Vida serves thousands of women, men and families from across the Fox Valley and northeast Wisconsin through providing free extensive and high quality medical, mentoring, material, and maternity housing support and services. In the clinic, a team of licensed medical providers and registered nurses provide care including free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STDs tests and treatment, well-woman checkups, and abortion pill reversal. Other Vida services include parent mentoring, childbirth classes, breastfeeding classes, post-abortive support, maternal and baby material needs, maternity housing, youth and community health education outreach, and more.
